Our Story

Redgine Armand is a natural product scientist at heart. Growing up in a family where the first line of defense to fend off sickness or infection is the use of natural remedies, she has always been fascinated by their mechanism of action. As Redgine pursued her undergraduate and graduate studies in the biological and chemical sciences, she became even more intrigued with how much nature has to offer. Science became possible because of nature and when the two are properly blend, amazing things can happen.

In the winter of 2007 inspiration grew into ideas, and then ideas were put to work. Right in her kitchen, using her knowledge from science and what she was learning from her studies in natural products, Redgine formulated her first product, the Soft Curls Crème. This first product was created, because at the time, Redgine had just cut off her dread locks of 8 years, and became very aware of the lack of options she had in caring for her hair in a healthy manner. Her main goal was to maintain and enhance her curls without the use of harsh or toxic chemicals. She then later develops and formulates the Peppermint Mud Hair Softening Mask and the Magic Curls Purée.

In 2009 with the encouragement of close friends and family who used her products, Botanical Spirits Health & Beauty was born. To date with a small family staff, the Botanical Spirits hair line has grown to 16 products, with the first body care product launched in fall 2010. Redgine's goal is not only to grow both the hair and body care line, but to also expand Botanical Sprits beyond hair and body care. Redgine's purpose in creating her products is to encourage you to have a healthy body, mind and spirit, helping you be "The Naturally Beautiful, Healthy You".
